1. Information We Collect
TellySynco collects information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, and family member profiles — as well as information generated through your use of the service, including calendar events, tasks, habits and their completion history, shopping lists, meal plans, allowances and transactions, messages you send to the Synco assistant, and household preferences. We also record the devices you sign in from so we can deliver notifications.
On iPhone, and only if you switch it on yourself, we additionally read a limited set of Apple Health data. Section 5 sets out exactly what we read, what we write back, and what does and does not leave your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve TellySynco's services, including AI-powered scheduling, task management, and family coordination features. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Synco AI. When you ask the Synco assistant a question, we send your message and what's needed to answer it — your household's event and task titles and member names — to Google Gemini, our AI provider, solely to generate a reply. We never send your password, payment information, or Apple Health data to Gemini. The iOS app asks your permission before your first message is sent this way.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Firebase and Google Cloud Platform infrastructure with strict access controls to protect your family's information.
4. Calendar & Third-Party Integrations
When you connect third-party calendars (Google, Outlook, iCloud), we access only the data necessary to sync and display your events. We do not modify or share your calendar data with other services without your explicit consent.
5. Apple Health (iPhone only)
TellySynco's iPhone app can connect to Apple Health so that habits you track here tick themselves off from activity you have already recorded, instead of you logging it twice. This is entirely optional and is off until you turn it on in the app's Settings and grant permission in Apple's own dialog. If you never connect it, nothing in this section applies to you.
What we ask permission to read. Step count, walking and running distance, active energy burned, exercise minutes, mindful minutes, sleep analysis, water intake, and body mass. We ask for nothing else, and we do not read medical records, clinical data, or any health category outside that list.
What we write back. When you complete a matching habit inside TellySynco, we can save that completion into Apple Health as water intake, a mindful session, or a workout, so your progress sits alongside the rest of your activity. Those three are the only things we ever write.
What leaves your iPhone. We do not upload your Apple Health records. Reading happens on your device. For each habit you have explicitly linked to a Health metric — and only for those — the app sends our servers three things per day: the date, that day's total converted into the habit's own unit (for example “8,412 steps”), and Apple Health's identifier for the sample it was derived from, which we use solely to avoid counting the same activity twice. That figure is stored with the rest of your habit history and is marked as having come from Apple Health rather than from you tapping. Health metrics you have not linked to a habit are never sent to us, and we never receive the underlying samples, timestamps, or readings behind the daily figure.
What we never do with it. We do not use Apple Health data, or anything derived from it, for advertising or marketing. We do not sell it. We do not share it with data brokers, or with any third party for their own purposes. It is used only to complete the habits you asked it to complete.
Children. A child profile cannot connect Apple Health. Child habits are logged by hand.
Turning it off. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → TellySynco, or by choosing Disconnect inside TellySynco. Disconnecting stops all reading and all writing back. Habit days you already logged stay in your history, and anything TellySynco already saved into Apple Health stays in Apple Health — those are your records, and removing them is yours to do from the Health app. Health-derived habit entries already stored with us are deleted when your account data is deleted, as described in Section 7.
6. Children's Privacy
TellySynco is designed for family use. Child accounts are managed by the household administrator (parent/guardian). We comply with applicable children's privacy regulations and do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data, and How to Delete It
While your account is active. We keep your household's information for as long as the account exists, because the service is built on that history — past events, completed tasks, and habit streaks are only meaningful if they are still there. We do not keep it after the account is deleted, except as set out below.
Getting a copy. You can download everything we hold about your household as a JSON file at any time, from Settings → Privacy & Security → Export My Data. The export covers your household profile, adult and child member profiles, tasks, calendar events, connected calendar accounts, and registered devices.
Deleting it. The household owner can delete the account from Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete My Account. Doing so immediately takes the household and every profile in it out of service, and schedules permanent deletion for 30 days later. Within those 30 days the owner can cancel from the app and everything is restored; once the 30 days elapse, the data is erased and cannot be recovered.
Erasure removes the household record and all adult and child profiles; calendar events, event privacy settings, and connected calendar accounts; tasks and their reminders; habits and every habit completion, including any derived from Apple Health; shopping lists, meal plans, and recipes; allowances, budgets, and transactions; streaks and achievements; status updates; saved media and events parsed from photos; smart-home device links; records of your use of the Synco assistant; registered devices; and outstanding household invitations. Your sign-in accounts with our authentication provider are deleted at the same time.
If you are not the household owner. Email us at saad@thefamsync.com and we will delete your personal data. A parent or guardian can remove a child's account at any time from the household screen, which deletes that child's profile.
Limited exceptions. Encrypted operational backups may retain a copy for a short period after deletion before they are cycled out. We may also keep records for longer where the law requires it — for example billing and tax records — or where we need them to resolve a dispute or enforce our Terms. Anything kept for those reasons is kept only for as long as that reason lasts.
8. Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete your personal data at any time through the Settings page in your TellySynco account. Section 7 explains how to export your data and how deletion works. You may also request a copy or a deletion by contacting us at the address below.
